More and more lesbians, gay men and singles are becoming parents or want to become parents. Lesbians and gay men often become parents for some of the same reasons that heterosexual people do, some pursue parenting as a single person and others seek to create families as a couple. The rise in same-sex/single parenting is partially due to the increase in options available. Although most children of same-sex couples are biological children of one of the parents, a growing number are the result of donor insemination, surrogacy, foster care and adoption.
The Fertility Center of Las Vegas can help.
Gay men/Single men may use their sperm to inseminate a donor’s eggs or a surrogate mother using in vitro fertilization
Lesbians/Single women may use an anonymous or known sperm donor to inseminate one or both partners’ eggs and become pregnant. Lesbian partners who both want a biological connection to their child may use one partner’s egg (inseminated with a donor’s sperm) inserted into the other partner’s uterus using in vitro fertilization, who can then carry the child to term in her womb.
